When Is the Best Time to See the Great Migration?

A month-by-month guide to where the herds are and how to plan your Serengeti safari.

The Great Migration is a year-round cycle. From December to March the herds gather in the southern Serengeti for the calving season. From April to June they move north and west, and between July and October they cross the Mara River in dramatic scenes.

Our guides track the herds daily, so we can place you in the right camp at the right time. Talk to us and we will tailor your dates.
